Seventeen-year-old Elisany Silva is famous in Brazil because of her amazing height.
十七歲的Elisany Silva因為她驚人的身高在巴西很有名氣。
Two years ago, she made international headlines when at age fourteen, measuring six feet, nine inches. She was named as Brazil's tallest teenager.
兩年前，她在十四歲的時候登上了國際新聞頭條，身高量出來有六呎九吋(206公分)。她被封為巴西最高的青少年。
Inevitably, Elisany's unique appearance attracts attention everywhere she goes.

(Portuguese) I feel a bit bothered because sometimes people say good things, others say bad things.

She hoped her newfound stardom would help her realize her life's ambition.

(Portuguese) My real desire, my dream is to become a model.

But Elisany's aspirations were quickly snubbed.

(Portuguese) I used to dream about it, but the model agencies in Brazil slammed the door in my face. They said my height was not appropriate for what they wanted. I gave up on it. But I keep dreaming.

On top of the teenager's disappointment, her mother worried Elisany's height was causing problems for her health.

(Portuguese) When she turned thirteen she started complaining about the pain.

(Portuguese) I feel pain on my spine, on my chest, in my knees. I have pain in all my joints, but what is really strong is the migraine.

Now age seventeen, happily, Elisany's life has been transformed. She's found love with an unlikely companion. Five foot four inch, Fraincinaldo.

(Portuguese) She is a beautiful person. She is tall but so pretty, with a beautiful face.

The couple met eighteen months ago and have been inseparable ever since.

(Portuguese) Many people don't feel attracted to a man's character but by what a man owns. What attracted me to him was his calm manner. The way he acts with people and the way he acts with me.

The foot and a half height difference presents obvious challenges.

(Portuguese) The only thing it really affects is when we are out holding hands. It looks like he is my little brother or son. But I didn't choose him, God did.

But Francinaldo thinks they have the perfect relationship.

Since doctors removed a benign tumor on her pituitary gland, Elisany's accelerated growth has been halted. And remarkably, her height has shrunk by one inch.

(Portuguese) I still worry, but I am a little more relaxed.

Elisany's relationship with Fracinaldo has given her life new hope.

(Portuguese) In the future, I see myself married with children, working and living in a nice house. I dream a lot.

And she's determined to fulfill her ambition. Whatever it takes.

(Portuguese) When I am sleeping I dream I am in a catwalk parade with lots of people watching me. My dream is to be a model. I have always dreamed about it, ever since I was a little girl.
