How to Walk in Heels
I'm more comfortable in heels than I am in flats, but some people are intimidated by them. So I'm here to show you some quick tips on how to walk right in heels.
The best place to start is gonna be with the wedge. They're great because it distributes the weight evenly, and it makes it a lot harder to teeter in them when you're first starting out. And another fun tip, if you want to really elongate your legs, make sure to go with a nude pair of shoes, like these corks, because it makes you look much taller.
Now we've moved up to the chunky heel. There's still more stability than you're gonna get with a stiletto. And if you're still worried about your foot moving around a lot, opt for something that has a buckle, some kinda ankle strap, or even a bootie, to hold your foot in place while you're learning.
Okay, so now we are at the mother of all heels—this is the ultimate stiletto. What's nice about these is that there's a platform in the front, which is that few inches of heel that's right below my toes. And while this heel gives you, like, the ultimate effect, it's actually easy to walk in because of the platform in the front. You're kinda cheating...but they look fabulous!
Here are some dos and don'ts while you're walking: Make sure you walk heel-first because it's gonna stabilize the foot and give you more balance; don't walk toe-first because it just looks awkward and clunky. While you're practicing, place one foot in front of the other.
It's a great way to help identify your signature walk.
Here's some tips for going up and down stairs, which at first can seem a little scary. When going up the stairs, it's best to go toe-first. If you're leading with your heel and you misjudge a step, you could lose your balance. For going down the stairs, plant your entire foot on the stair and make sure to hold the railing when going down. It's easy as that, guys! Put all those tips to the test, and the world is your catwalk.
