Ordinal numbers are used to show position in a series of numbers. Think of a race, for example...or a birthday. So, here we go!
序數被用來表示在一串數字中的位置。例如，想想一場比賽...或生日。那麼，我們開始囉!
One is "first," two is "second," and three is "third." Four is "fourth." Five is "fifth"—notice the spelling of fifth. Then from sixth all the way through 20th, you add "th" to the end of the cardinal, or the regular, number. If you have trouble making that "th" sound, try biting the very end of your tongue lightly and blowing air through it.

When you get to 21, you start over again with the first pattern. So 21 is "twenty-first," 22 is "twenty-second," 23 is "twenty-third," and so on.

So, for example, you would say someone placed first, or second, or third in a race, or maybe 23rd... And on my next birthday, you could say, "Happy 21st Birthday!"...again.
